reccomend me games that are like final fantasy tactics

Tactics ogre and front mission. Neither one of them are as good(the job system in fft rules) but they are still okayish. I like tactics ogre alot but it was setup kind of weird. it's still cool though, because you can have 10 people fighting at a time instead of 3 or 5. The tactics ogre on the 64 might be better, though.

There's phantom brave but that game seems like it was made by some asshole on the internet, it feels like it's full of holes. If I think of any others I'll post again.

Makai Kingdom is kind of like FFT but less structured, and it's very easy to find. It's oodles of fun. FFT Advanced is like FFT also (duh), but the judges are annoying. You may want to look into Ring of Red on the PS2, it's like if Front Mission fucked FFT and made a lumpy, weird baby.


Disgaea 2 will require no prior knowledge of the first game to enjoy. The story is almost entirely unrelated.

Also, for the record, Disgaea is my favorite game of all fucking time, if that helps you want to buy it more. FFT held that spot for many years, up until i got a hold of Disgaea and did not stop playing it for something like 8 months.

In Tactics Ogre, your troops die permanently.

At the moment the Best games I can think of are Front Mission 4(ps2) Fire Emblem, the GBA Zone of the enders game, and Advance Wars(gba)

Your troops die permanantly in Tactics Ogre if they die and turn into a card/treasure without being ressurected or the battle being beaten before they turn into a treasure or a card. I thought final fantasy tactics was the same way with the crystals?

Phantom brave and all those other games were made by the same person, but I haven't played the others I just know I got kind of tired with some aspects of phantom brave. I did enjoy some parts of it though.

Disgaea was great, and has tons of replay value if you feel like dedicating 200+ hours of levelling to defeat Baal and Prinny Baal
From what I've seen, Disgaea 2 is pretty much identical to the first, minus the story.

Otherwise, pretty much any other strategy RPG made by Atlus/Nippon Ichi is good, but they all feel like the same :/

Fire emblem is pretty fun. I even liked the one on Gameboy, b ut did they ever translate the fireemblems on SNES? I remember having the first ten lines of one of the first ones with the flying horse guy translated.

the gameboy ones are remakes of the SNES ones, and the NES game (the one with marth and the flying horse guy (who is a girl, btw)) has never been translated. Which sucks, because that one is my favorite.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced was fun and all, but no where near as awesome as FFT

i bought Disgaea off ebay for 111 dollars ( the money is going to the guy's wife who has cancer, so i dont feel TOO bad about spending all that money )
