Way back in 1999, I was working with a surveying company on the Ferry Point Park project in NYC, when I stumbled upon a dead body under the Bronx side of the Whitestone bridge. His hand had been duct taped together in such a way that he looked as if he were praying. Over his head was a clear plastic bag with more duct tape around his neck.
We called the police and they showed up two hours later.
Later we had found out that he was abducted by people to whom he owed money. They put the bag around his head and stuffed him in the trunk of thier car in an effort to "scare" him into paying.
I found the whole incident to be quite desensitizing.
