Nice looking bass...most important thing I've found over the years is the quality of the hardware/pick-ups and neck (does it feel right for you). The $500 bass isn't a very good bass anymore, meaning that you need to spend alteast $1000 to get quality...picking up a used older cool bass and putting some money into it slowly is fun and educational :/
My friend has an original Fender Telecaster bass that sounds amazing...simple bass that he put an active pick-up in.
