the barrel from sonic 3 i remember one time renting the game and someone had made it past that level. that was the first time i got to experience the rest of the game, which in comparison to the first 4 levels blows. :/
recently i haven't honestly had any trouble in games, but i have spent a few days on some of the bosses in viewtiful joe 1 & 2
Sandopolis Zone Act 2. When I played Sonic & Knuckles 10 years ago I stuck in that goddanmed tomb.....wasn't until 2003 that I played that game again and finally figured it out. Still, Terminator 2 has the most insanely difficult level I've ever played.

OK well I second this one too, actually. I got stuck on the never-ending slides not knowing how to get by until I realized how easy it actually was about a year after I gave up on it for the first time.
