Yeah, I actually enjoyed scanning too. Especially in the beginning of MP2 where you stumble upon the decimated GF marines base and find all of them dead, and you scan a bunch of them and slowly piece together what happened. It was actually a little creepy :o

I just think it fits in strangely with the gameplay, maybe it's just the whole non-linear way the story presents itself. I do like the games though.
