I wish it was true. Because, when I’ve been diagnosed nine years ago, I’ve been automatically labelled as an intellectual deficient. I’ve been placed in a “special” school where other kids has AS, too. The others kids hated me because I didn’t “fit” with mostly AS comportments. Even, many specialists wouldn’t notice that I have Asperger’s Syndrome when they first meet me. It’s only when they get to know me better that they will notice some AS comportments. Contrary to someone who has AS at a high level, I don’t have tics, I don’t talk excessively about the same subject (ex.: airplanes or transistors) and I perfectly understand sarcasm and irony, which I master well, too. In fact, I’ve always been wondering if I was misdiagnosed, that I could have something else than AS. I still find it hard to believe that I really have AS. That’s kind of unfair, to me.
