3/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 lb butter, room temperature
1 1/2 c sifted all-purpose flour
1 c quick oats
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 8-oz package of chocolate chips
1 cup crushed walnuts (optional)

to stir the flour, baking soda and salt together in a bowl and set aside.
to cream together the sugars, butter, and eggs, and then stir in the vanilla extract. Then to add the dry mixture and to stir until combined, then to add the chocolate chips (and walnuts, if using) and to stir until uniform. Then to place rounded spoonfuls on non-stick or greased baking sheet and to bake at 375 degrees for 11-13 minutes or until golden brown.
