In my experience, it normally means that I'M the asshole.

I had a girl tell me that, but she was eating anti-depressants that her mother gave her. Note that her mother is a common housewife.

So one day she wigs out on me and is saying, "YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME!"

I tried saying, "Well you don't know me apparently either."

"NO MATT I KNOW YOU! OH I KNOW YOU! YOU DON'T KNOW ME! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME!"

I had dated this girl for a couple of years and lived with her.
