It lost it's when they started using computers instead of true-stop motion. Dammit, it may have been jerky, but it had a certain je-ne-sais-quoi that gave it charm!

And stop-motion animation was never glamourous to begin with. It was some guy sitting in his basement sweating and cursing at a clay figure that has one limb that JUST WON'T STAY ON GODDAMITT!
