Depends. The Yankees are killed by injuries to key players and their bullpen is awful and the young starters aren't coming around. Mussina is pitching like it was 10 years ago, but how long can that last?
the hitting is weak, but the last few seasons, they've been slow in the first half. If they avoid digging too deep and hole for themselves and their pitchers get productive, it'll be a interesting in September.
The Red Sox have injury problems, too, but have been able to keep pace. I'd say its simply a matter of time before they can put distance on the Rays.
edit: As soon as I say this, the Rays go on to sweep the BoSox. Hrm.
