It does sound crazy, but then again, you see all these viral videos with kids sticking bottle rockets in their butt crack. Some wise guy probably figured that since people are gullible and candles are made of wax, he need only make them believe that the wax of a candle came out of their ear to make them buy the candle. Or it comes from some ancient technique. Since I was a hair away from trying it, I'll go with ancient technique.
