Possibly. If more than the skirt had been missing, I'd have thought it was an extremely complicated robbery scheme. There's not much as distracting as splattering someone's bathroom floor to ceiling with diarrhea.
That particular garage sale we also had "lawsuit lady"...miserable old bitch who came over and told us in a conspirational tone that if she fell or hurt herself on our property she could sue us, and that she'd done it before. She proceeded to point out tables she could bump against, cracks she could trip over, that sort of thing. She said she'd sued one family who had a "not responsible for accidents" sign and that even if you have a sign up someone could still sue you.
She made me very paranoid and I put up safety tape all over the garage. When she came back last year I felt like kicking her off the property, but she behaved herself. She had an evil son I couldn't stand, too.
