I also never said that the game "wasn't right" for the 360. There's definitely a market for everything. I'm just saying let's not kid ourselves; do you think a cartoonish action/adventure/platform game is going to do better on the Wii or 360? Note that I said BETTER, not WELL.

Also Zomboid, what in your mind constitutes a valid complaint? That you can't play said game in HD whilst rolling in your caddy? That you need to shoot some niggas? Inquiring minds want to know.

Maybe I'm overstating my anger here, because I'm not flying into hysterics or boycotting the game over the change. I'm just disappointed.

I also invite Nick to eat a metric ton of dicks at his leisure.
Well, I don't know what to tell you. I've never been a huge banjo-kazooie fan, but I did enjoy the first one. Them changing things up causes you to dislike it, but you'd still buy it and enjoy it? I can kind of understand that you're upset with the changes, but it sounds like they're minor problems at best if you'd still buy and enjoy the thing.

Who knows if they're gonna keep the changes, though? They'll probably just gauge fan and critic reaction to this one and go from there. Don't jump to conclusions.

Yeah, it would probably do better on wii, considering how many wii owners are children, but who cares? Nintendo doesn't own rare and now there's another kid-friendly game on the 360. Everybody wins :D...Except wii owners.

Your complaints weren't valid because you pretty much just said "I DON'T LIKE IT BECAUSE IT'S NOT THE SAAAAME!" Here, you elaborated and made a good point or two. Now we have a better idea of what you were saying. Also, what the fuck are you even implying? Caddys and niggas? What?

Edit: Jeff's a dumb fuck. That also needed to be said.

They're minor problems about major changes. Yeah. What's hard to grasp about that? Furthermore, what's so rage-ignitingly argumentative about that?

You're absolutely right, I should instead wait until the next one comes out to see if my qualms were justified or not. Why voice complaint now when you can tomorrow, I always say.

Wii owners don't win anymore, yeah.

What? How are my complaints not valid because the game isn't the same? Was it wrong of people to criticize Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? I didn't see it and I don't like Indiana Jones, but from what I understand it was terrible and bore little resemblance to the first few movies other than the characters. You can argue that the other movies were GOOD and this one wasn't (which apparently isn't the case, as this game is pretty good) but you could also not argue that point so please don't. Point being, I don't see what's wrong with not liking something because it's not the same as something else.

I like platforming, not LEGO games. I like house, not speedcore. Your socialist attitude of accepting all games is frightening and quite frankly bears a strong resemblance to communism.

Jeff, if you're trying to get me to consider the worth of a game, I'm not entirely sure if comparing it to Mario's most widely panned outing is a good idea.

Nick, if you're going to eat those dicks, you'd better shake a leg. A ton is a lot. Why are you on the internet? There are dicks to be eaten.

Goddammit, Schimid.. Is it really that bad that the same (dare i say it, boring) gameplay isnt presented here in the same way? Is that really so bad?

And for the love of all living creatures, stop with your insults...they're just horrible.... "Eat dicks", dear god, at least be creative.

And while pac-man enjoyed Mario Sunshine, I did not... But my opinion doesnt instantly make that game bad. Good on them for trying something new, it just didnt stick with me. You get what Im saying?

It just seems like you're nitpicking with this game for some reason. It not being what you expected, and that being a major problem for you doesn't really seem like a problem when you go on to say that it's a good game, NAW MEAN? I can understand if you're saying that you like it as something other than banjo-kazooie, but even then, games change. There hasn't been a new banjo-kazooie in quite a while so it's more of a reboot than going from a string of successful, recent games and then suddenly changing the formula.

As I said, complaining that the game isn't the same as the old ones isn't really valid in this case because the last game came out on what? The n64? That's a couple generations of consoles ago. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull just sucked in a lot of different areas. It's impossible to limit the one reason for it being totally fucking awful on it not being the same as the others in the series.

I don't like all games, and I don't like when a successful series suddenly takes a hard turn towards something else entirely, but when there's such a huge gap in between the games, you're kidding yourself if you think it'll be the exact same thing. I haven't played it, but it at least LOOKS almost exactly as I remember it. If it's still the same cartoony platformer, it can't have strayed TOO far.

Yeah, I guess you're right in that it's been a really long time. I think the time lapse is also what makes it so disheartening, to hear that a new B-K is coming out and getting all hyped and it's, uh, this. I'll admit I never thought of it that way. I've always loved platform games and to take away one of my favorites, sure it's upsetting. I loved it for what it was, and now it's different, is all. Good, but different.

I don't really consider it nitpicking because I'm not complaining about a new character, a small design choice, a level, anything like that...this is what the entire game is based around now, which is a pretty big shift. I can certainly enjoy it for the game that it is, but not as a B-K game I know and wanted, which is probably my biggest gripe.

Then what did you want exactly? For it to be just like all the other Banjo Kazooie games?

I played the first two and really liked them. I loved the attacks, the bizzare monsters that would go "Rawr!" and chase you at 2 mph, the surreal worlds, and Grunty going "Ra ra ra, ra ra ra" whenever she spoke. I loved the different puzzles and rooting around and flying blind. It gave me the same feeling Ocarina of Time did the first time I played it.

Maybe it's because I'm not much of a vehicle person, but the idea of Banjo and Kazooie having everything car-related just bugs me. I'd be fine if they put some feature in like there were car-racing events in levels (like the DK minecart races), but it just seems to much to make it all cars. The only racing games I've played regularly are Mario Kart and Mario Kart: Double Dash, which mostly gets the appeal of being able to throw a shell at my brother's kart. The racing game I played that Banjo was in was Diddy Kong Racing, which I gave up on because the racing was fine at first but it got boring to have it the entire game.

Anyway, that's just my thought on it. No, I'm not grumpy because I've got a Wii (I'm perfectly happy with my Wii). Just my opinion. I prefer games that let you run around and search and swim and have more freedom.

I think that's my biggest gripe. The other games had a mentality of "Oh shit, look up there! Wanna go up there? Find a way!"

This game seems more like "Oh shit, look up there! Wanna go up there? Well, you can't! Not until you get the proper pieces! Oh, you made a car? That's pretty cool! Oops, you did it wrong! LOL!!! Back to the lab! Learn physics asshole!"

They've swapped the immediacy of impulse platforming and replaced it with a system that requires planning and forethought. I'm just more of an instant gratification kinda guy.

So you have to do a little extra work instead of waltzing around and being spoon fed every tiny little thing. Big deal.

I'd hardly call the first two Banjo-Kazooie games spoon feeding every tiny thing. But maybe that's just me.

I wasnt talking about the first two Banjo-Kazooie games at all... I was saying that Id rather do work in -any- game instead of having something given to me right off. Its not nearly as gratifying that way, you know?

You make this game sound harder than it actually is. You get some basic vehicle design blueprints early in the first few levels that you can use if you don't want to be creative in make your own. That, and the fact you can switch out your vehicles or add on to them at any time helps make you not feel frustrated at it. Also the test track for all the vehicles helps you see just how stupid your designs are.
