Console RPGs aren't my favourite (especially Final Fantasies) but I did enjoy Chrono Trigger, for instance. But try some plot driven computer RPGs too.

Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 with expansions
Planescape: Torment
Icewind Dale 1 & 2
Fallout 1 & 2
