Ok let's face it, Gotham is just a pretty crappy place to live. Batman is easily one of the most powerful superheroes in the DC universe and he can barely keep the city from collapsing into a state of all out chaos. I mean Supes keeps Metropolis pretty much running like a gleaming utopia aside from a few nutjobs, but Batman just manages to hold off humanities return to feral cannibalism by a sliver.

As for who's the new Batman? I think everytime a comic has ever had the "Who is X?" question, that answer has always been dissapointing. Ir'll be more fun to guess than to have them reveal.
