Never saw either of them, so I can't say. I'm pretty sure the red sun bit came from a documentary I saw years ago in school about how the sun would one day go supernova. It was a rather impressionable lesson, given that we also learned in that unit about how the Earth also could be destroyed by a meteor headed our way or a black hole coming at us.
