Isn't that a good thing? A lot of Futurama fans (including myself) rank that episode very highly because it's so emotionally affecting. It's hard enough for a live-action show to make you care about its characters (who are on-screen portrayed by real people), but for a cartoon to do it is an absolute achievement. Let's not forget that we never even heard of Seymour before the episode (Fry's brother Yancy was also introduced in the similarly good "The Luck of the Fryrish"), so we were sad at the death of a character we only knew even existed 22 minutes earlier. The episode is a testament to how good Futurama could be and why it has such a devoted fanbase (one so devoted they brought it back from the dead, twice).

Man, screw that! That movie nearly ruined the greatness of two of the series's best episodes. It only doesn't ruin them because, like Dr. Boogie, I don't plan on ever rewatching it, so I choose to take the original events over those of BBS.
