Just tell her your mom is old time dumb. I'm pretty sure its 2010 but people will still cling to old misunderstood ways. I told my dad last week my girlfriend was black just to see his facial reaction. He was like "I thought she was Irish." I was like she's both... she does the shamrock shake."

No offense whatsoever to Generation X(I'm only out by a few years) but Generation Y seems to be a lot more tolerable of different race relations. I don't base who I date on skin color or where they grew up. Even if their skin color is the same as mine, grew up in a nice neighborhood and have a nice family they can end up being a wackjob.
