I hate console FPS; the graphics smoke cock and you don't hav e the flexibility to bind 126 different keys since the controller only has maybe 15 buttons.
Here's my control setup for most FPS games:
W = forward
S = backward
A = strafe left
D = strafe right
LShift = crouch
space = jump
R = reload
If you're using a wheel mouse, you can have wheel up and wheel down cycle through your weapons, and the wheel button can be your "use/open" function.
Just turn on mouse look and always walk forward to steer.
If you are uber-l33t like me, you will also invert the mouse axis so up means down and down means up (hey, I played a lot of flying games when I was younger.)
It takes a while to get used to the new control system, but once you get adjusted to the PC, you'll hate the console.
