If you live in Texas, I would suggest checking
this site. They actually have listings for any states, but yeah... hopefully that'll help you get started on visiting some good haunts.
As for horror movies in theaters... you have the Alamo Drafthouse in Texas, and I'm sure they'll be playing some fantastic stuff there.
