You know those "Fleecing of America" segments on the news, where they show how old people got fooled by telemarketers and lost all their money, and not a single person watching does not say "They fucking deserved it for being so stupid."? Well, I imagine old people get so lonely and starved for human contact that they'll flush their money down the shitter just so they can talk to an indifferent sales person. Also, a common response was "I can use this for my grandchildren," which is probably senior citizen code for "please chit chat with me, I'm so lonely!"
I have seven weeks left until the start of the fall semester. Nobody is going to hire me for seven weeks. I'm fucked.
