Starting out, I'd like to say I agreed with the sentiment of the article, and am only posting the following to get it off my chest. It's a minor point which has been sending me into apoplectic fits lately whenever it arises.
"This provides a lot of aid and comfort to Osama bin Laden — who really did attack America — and Kim Jong Il — who really is building nukes."
Now see, the left (not to name any names, just making ab blanket generalization) has been criticizing the Bush administration for its assassination-style policies towards the Hussein family, and yet seem to feel no contradiction in supporting one targeting bin Laden (who, to my understanding, neither planned nor put into effect the September elventh strikes, but simply witheld knowledge of the intent and possibly lent finances). Secondly, they made evident the unAmerican (and I agree) quality of instigating war on the basis that others have the potential for or possession of weapons of Mass Destruction (the America I fell in love with believed in leading by example), and yet they have no compunction to dress down the Bush administration for not attacking No Korea rather than egage in peace talks.
I'm not saying the left is wrong in any of this, but EVER SO FUCKING INCONSISTANT that it almost makes no difference whether they are wrong or right.
It irritates me to no end.
