I guess lumping everything else into one bundle doesn't do justice to the diversity of the music of the entire world, but setting it apart from Western music isn't bad in and of itself. Music is a cultural thing, and since the Western world many common cultural elements, Western music would be distinct from music from any other parts of the world.
But I did agree with most of that article, the stuff about the dumbass yuppies doing stupid things to mimic countries that they have no understanding of was good. Fuckin yuppies
