Jackson Wanted to Play Car in a Movie
AP

NEW YORK - It's an odd idea for a movie, even for Michael Jackson . "Jersey Girl" director Kevin Smith says he once got an offer to direct the pop singer in a movie about a man who turns into a car that gets ridden around by a boy.

Smith tells Playboy magazine that Jackson wanted to play the car/man role. The proposed title of the film, and Smith says this is no lie, was "Hot Rod."

Smith calls it the "weirdest" script he was ever asked to direct.

That can't be real. It's far too comical.

He's not joking.

In fact, I think this is being made to spite the whole publicity.

Kevin Smith has a fantastic story about doing a religious documentary for Prince.

Kevin should have gone for this

"Hot Rod" has nothing on this baby;

"The Day the Clown Cried"

The Day the Clown Cried In 1971, producer Nate Waschberger asked Jerry Lewis to direct and star in "The Day the Clown Cried", based on Joan O’Brien’s book by the same name, about a German clown who was arrested by the Gestapo, interred in a concentration camp, and used to march Jewish children into the ovens. Jerry lost close to 40 pounds to play the role. The shooting began in Stockholm, but Waschberger not only ran out of money to complete the film, but he failed to pay Joan O’Brien the money she was owed for the rights to the story. Jerry was forced to finish the picture with his own money. The film has been tied up in litigation ever since, and all of the parties involved have never been able to reach an agreeable settlement. Jerry hopes to someday complete the film, which remains to this day, a significant expression of cinematic art, suspended in the abyss of international litigation.

I thought there was already a Michael Jackson movie where he transformed into a car?

On the Simpsons DVD commentary for the episode "Stark Raving Dad" that Michael Jackson guest starred in, the writers claimed that Jackson requested a scene where he got to stay up all night with Bart, and that's why they added the bit with him helping Bart write a song through the night.

Why do people go around saying he's a pedo if there has been NO EVIDENCE. I think its mean to point the finger until he's proven guilty. In regards to this case I think its about the money.

I think Kevin Smith will do this so he can't say the Clerks: The Animated Series is his worst project to date.

And Clerks: The Animated Series is good

I'm so tempted to think you are kidding but you're not doing a very good job of indicating that this is satire, so I'm gonna assume you're serious. The guy has already stated on television that he likes to sleep with boys in his bed. He can't even deny that he molested them convincingly because he's so deluded and crazy. Sure he can dance, and sure he USED to write good songs. That doesn't justify anything.

The MJ impersonater was only for the singing scenes, the speaking parts were actually Jackson.

IIRC, they couldn't get permission from his record label to put his real name in the credits
