A friend where i worked told me about how Dreamcasts are cheap, becuase nobody wants them, and that you can play roms on them. Also, he offered to make me CDs with every NES, SNES, and Genisis game ever for free. I'm moving soon for school, and would rather not take all my game systems (my room is really tiny, anyway). I want to leave behind as much as possible. Would it be worth it to get a dreamcast just to play roms on (h8 playing them on the computor ) also, how much should i ideally pay for a dreamcast. He told me that paying over 40 bucks would be a rip-off.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK

dreamcast is a awesome system with or without roms, although i never heard you can play genesis or other systems and that on a dreamcast 9unless its modded i would guess). Yet i know you can burn dreamcast games for gameplay.

i use my dc almost entirely for playing nes roms. it is very fun and simple :o i don't know how good the snes emulator is but the genesis one i tried worked pretty good. dcs dont require any modding to play emulated or bootlegged games. and they are really freakin cheap :o i recommend.

they retailed for $50 so i dont see how anyone could sell one used for more than $30ish

snes roms dont run well on a dreamcast. but nes is good and genisis is ok.
it is worth it though, there are enough fun games to justify the 40 dollars and games can be downloaded and burned easily.

the other more expensive route is a modded xbox. They are excellent for playing emulated games even up to n64 and psx and can play many downloaded movie formats, but the cost is significatly more.
