Just moved to Fort Worth. It's nice so far. People are friendly and polite. Please and Thank You. Waves on the road and holding doors. This is quite the opposite of life in Southern Califlakia. Fuck You and Middle Finger. Left Wing Liberal Tree Hugging Surfer Hippies cutting me off on one of 14 billion congested freeways.

The weather in Texas is a bit hot for my liking, but I'll get used to it. Or maybe not. I'm only here for a year at the moment.

Watch out though, the heat can kill. I speak from experience (Florida is probably not as hot, but close enough).

I did some short time there myself (Dallas). As much as I hated it then, I miss it now and want to move back.

Most of us Texans pride ourselves in our ability to hold a door open longer than it takes for us to get inside or out. We also like our hands very much and often put them in the air and wave them around a bit, kind of like "Hey man, we've got hands, that's bad as hell". Anyway, welcome to Texas.

Really? People have manners in other states? I've lived in the socal left wing surfer hippies cut you off flip you off area all of my life. I didn't know there was such a thing as waving and smiling.

That's because we want to blend in and not call attention to ourselves in other areas. The out of staters tend to look like they are staring into the headlights of oncoming traffic.

And those are the ones you want to pick off.
