Here in Chicago, it's like $6.50. I think, at least. So hopefully I get paid around $7.00 and make around two dollars in tips per hour. It's possible, with all the yuppies around here. :/

The optimist in me concurs. However, when I worked in a small private coffee house catering to a rural bedroom community, I got shit for tips because I wasn't cute or social. AND I worked too long AND I was underpaid AND nobody appreciated that I was the sole gluon holding together the nucleus of the Cicero Coffee Company.

So, I don't set my expectations high.

Yeah, I did more research and all I could find was the Illinois state imposed one, which is $5.50 (raising a dollar with the new year), but I swear I read a news article that said otherwise. It disappeared.
