My current mobo only has 4x AGP and my current processor is 1.5ghz. I just came into a sizeable bit of BIRTHDAY MONEY, so I'm looking at mobo combos and being flustered since I haven't done this crap in a while - most of this stuff doesn't even have ghz ratings on it. So, I was hoping some of you could tell me what of my selections is best and maybe make some recommendations of your own. I'd rather not go over $200. And I'd like it to be an Athlon 64. Is this actually gonna be that much better than a 4x AGP 1.5 ghz system?
Chaintech SK8T800 Socket 754 DDR MB with Athlon64 2800+ CPU & Fan
It's a 2800 with 800mhz FSB, but last I checked you need to get 3200 to breach the 2 ghz mark and get a boost in speed or something
ECS 755-A2 Socket 754 AthlonTM 64 DDR MB With Athlon64 3200+ CPU & Fan
Okay here's their 3200 but it's $42 over but I guess that isn't too big a travesty but um help
FIC K8-800T Socket 754 DDR MB with AthlonTM 64 3200+ CPU & Fan (CT)
Okay this has firewire and other stuff and it's a little cheaper but it doesn't say anything about FSB or why I should even care about that um ;<
ECS 755-A2 Socket 754 DDR MB with AthlonTM 64 3200+ CPU & Fan (CT)
Then you've got this which seems to have less neat junk on the back but it talks about how amazingly fast it is
I may be the #1 Computer Builder and #1 Rapist, but I don't understand any of this crap anymore. It used to be so simple.
