a seventh-grader at my son's middle school brought a gun yesterday. he'd threatened to kill several little girls before he was finally turned in. when they checked him, he had the gun, unloaded, stuffed in the waistband of his pants. they found bullets elsewhere, they said.

nobody got hurt, and the kid is now in detention. but damnit, that's scary.

oh, not only is my son in sixth grade at this school, i'm supposed to go sub there after the current teacher comes back from maternity leave at the end of the month. i guess i should be looking into kevlar. do they have family discounts?
