Old Jul 28th, 2005, 10:33 PM        I GOTS ME A JOB
After having graduated from college two years ago, I have finally secured a permanent job, even if I'm only going to be working no more than 32 hours a week right now. I'm working at a supermarket, starting as a cashier for $7.50 an hour. It's not the most desirable job, but this company was recently voted #1 in some major publication in terms of the treatment of its workers. They've promised that I'll have a raise within six months.

I was kind of panicky at first. I've reflected on the fact that I've started and nearly completed a documentary based on the sheer fact that I've been broke and have had nothing to lose. Soon it will be time to submit it to film festivals. I was wondering if I'm going to get lazy about the film. I really hope that if anything, it will give me more focus, and soften the blow incase the movie doesn't go anywhere. Having a real schedule again is going to take a lot of getting used to.

Why do I have such mixed feelings about this?
