I know this should be in the movie forum but someone tell me this isn't a anti-bush film...

I saw this movie when it first came out in theaters but I saw it without subtitles so I wasn't completely understanding the film as I was watching it just for the action. I saw it again yesterday on dvd with the closed caption and, holy shit...I know it's only a fantasy movie but the behavior of Lord Sith and the republic is eerily similiar to the bush administration of now...did anyone notice?

The republic blamed the jedi for turning against the republic when in fact of the movie, the republic had been breaking laws and destroying the democracy, freedom and liberty. Also noticed Lord Sith had tricked the public that the jedi is the enemy and they had to be destroyed if they wanted to save themselves. Far too similiar to the bush administration of now not to call the movie an anti-bush...

Odd, i heard that it can also be applied to Nazi germany or any other fascist state. With the Jedi being the jews and the Republic the Nazis.

Star wars was made in 1977, George W. Bush JR was not president then. Also...STFU you absolute idiot.

There is a distinct possibility you are talking about the wrong movie, Mozz. Also, if you are suggesting Bush senior was president in 1977, which you seem to be doing, you are also wrong.

Geggy, I remember Lucas being asked about this, and he replied with something to the effect of "Well, a fictional universe can't be COMPLETELY hermetic."

What the hell, I'll bite.

Mozz, since George Lucas apparently pulled that plot for episode 3 out of his ass at the last minute and it does a piss poor shitty job of actually filling in the story and connecting it in any way to the old movies because he squandered the first two prequels on irrelevant bullshit, I'm gonna have to say that you're full of crap on that one.
