Old Mar 29th, 2007, 11:03 AM        NEW FEATURE: "WHY 'COBRA' IS AN UNDERRATED MACHO BADASS MOVIE!"
Here's a movie I've been meaning to do a feature on for a loooong time. It features tough guys, axes, one-liners, more touch guys, models, robots, fire and anything else you could possibly want from a macho badass action movie.

NEW FEATURE: "TEN THINGS THAT MAKE 'COBRA' ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED MACHO BADASS ACTION MOVIES OF ALL TIME!"

Enjoy!

Fucking awesome, dude!

If you haven't already you have to do some pieces on Schwarzenegger flicks like Commando, Predator, The Running Man, Total Recal, Terminator, Conan, whatever...

Again, awesome piece, man.

Thanks guys, glad you liked it. Cobra is hands down one of the finest examples of 80's action you'll ever see. And yeah, I definitely plan on reviewing a bunch of my other favorite cheesy 80's action flicks in addition to the shark ones and other horror ones, so keep an eye out for those in the not too distant future.

I think that any movie with that actor who played "the night slasher" is an instant classic.

Naturally. Then again, any movie featuring guys clanking axes in the air in the middle of an abandoned factory for no reason whatsoever is an instant classic too.

My fondest memory of this movie was one time, when I was about 5 or so, sitting at the table eating breakfast, my dad said "YOU ARE THE DISEASE AND I AM THE CURE" out of nowhere and I had no idea what he was talking about until years later when I saw the cover box for it at a video store.

Mox, did Stallone make a Rocky type movie called 'Over the Top' or something like that about competitive Arm Wrestling? Or was that someone else?

Yes Max, that was Stallone and (you can ask Proto about this) I've raved about that movie for YEARS. I'm definitely doing a full feature on that one. I even have Kenny Loggin's theme song from that movie ("Meet Me Halfway") on my playlist to constantly remind me of how amazingly awesome that movie was.

Unless he's dead or something, Kenny Loggins needs to make a comeback and focus solely on awesomely cheesy theme music.

I also really enjoyed the montage in Cobra of him loading and cocking a variety of weapons. Has anyone timed that scene? That had to be around 20 minutes of footage and 'gun click' sounds.
