I've heard that this has already sort of been done, but which edition, or incarnate, I don't know...I'm talking about Mega Man... ...Oh, come on. You know that this is a bad *** idea. I can just imagine a parallel comparison of Mega Man to Zelda, right now. Both have simple storylines- the good vs. evil bit, with the ultimate objective of the "dark side" being world domination, of course.
What's the name of that pony companion of Link in Ocarina of Time? I haven't played any of the 64 Zelda's, but Rush (cyborg dog) from the Mega Man series serves just about the same purpose as Link's pony, but is even more useful.
I think Mega Man has a hell of a lot more potential to deliver than the creators of Zelda may ever hope to bring forth...Just think of the movie "AI"; human anxiety or fear of robotic labor integration; on the part of Dr. Wily, plotlines of global, corporate monopoly, and its relationship w/quality of life.
