I bought a Surface Pro with my tax refund money after reading Penny Arcade's review of it. It was that, or the 12" Cintiq, but I decided having a portable Wacom tablet that was also a laptop was more useful, especially since I can work on commissions while at my day job.

Still waiting for Adobe to update their drivers, but Sketchbook Pro works like a dream. I absolutely love this thing, though I understand I'm kind of a unique demographic and most people probably wouldn't want/need one.

I was surprised that more people didnt die. Shrapnel and 100s of people in a crowded area and only 3 deaths. You guys got "lucky".

There's tons of hospitals and emergency centers in the area, actually. Not that you'd ever want to, but if you have to get seriously injured, Boston's a good place to do it. My mum works at a hospital maybe 30 minutes from Boston and said they got a pretty light load of patients since a lot of the victims were evenly distributed to nearby centers. The doctors and EMTs in Boston are some of the best in the world.

In any case, one of the casualties is actually from my hometown in Medford. I didn't know her as well as some of my friends did, but I heard the mother was originally told the daughter was fine, then told she was one of the casualties. Really tragic, but there's been a huge outpouring of support.

I was actually going to try and get over my fear of needles to give blood today, but I was turned down due to them already having more than enough donations, which is kinda crazy (but in a good way).

so you guys know what disburse means right? like, pay out? for some strange reason when the financial aid dept told me they were going to disburse my money today i thought that meant that they would send the money to my bank for processing.
but apparently what they really meant is that my bank would be receiving it it in a week or two.
i didn't know that disburse meant pay them in two weeks.

When it comes to financial aid, I would think they would have the 6 to 8 week rule. If they said a week or 2, it will probably be there by the next Monday, but I wouldn't count on that.

As for me I graduated with my BScN and managed to get a job already! Spent yesterday working with the Critical Care Outreach Team. BUT THEN they wanted me to do some clerical work on the unit but it was too busy. So I got sent home early. For the four day weekend yeeeeeeeeeah!
